Many sects have build their own television station in the city, exploiting the credulity of the population. Newman program in urduNewman, a Man for Our Time, produced by Albert Street Productions, in Australia, will be dubbed into urdu by the Catholic TV channel of Karachi, in Pakistan. Fr. Jalal, in charge of the channel, needed a sponsor to cover the costs of the rights to acquire the program. The Diocesan Audiovisual Centre of Hong Kong offered to cover the costs of the rights. The programs broadcast range from a variety of cultural, social, educational, religious and family oriented programs. The channel today is offering an original 3 hours of Spanish, 3 hours of English, two of French and one hour of Portuguese programming.
